A Novel Solution

I've tried making my own books, and after much frustration and failure I purchased some printable books that you assemble yourself. Aesthetically they're perfect, and I plan on mixing them with more contemporary books to bring the image into the present. I still haven't figured out what domestic element or proof of habitation to include, but I'm feeling another floor mattress coming into play.

This is the first set/image that I am documenting the full process of, and I'm enjoying the breaks that it requires to photograph each step. Sometimes being overwhelmed by the detail I foresee in my sets blindsides my ability to determine whether or not the process I am perusing is a. up to aesthetic standards and/or b. made in the most productive and efficient manner. Rushing into making objects just to get them "out of the way" has led to a plethora of unusable miniatures. Hopefully, I will be seeing a continued improvement in quality and production time.
